Filet Crochet finished!!!

So here it is, all finished. It only took as long as it did because I had so many actual wedding projects going on like stuffing favors for the guest tables and helping make programs and such.

It was a LOT easier that I had ever thought and I really love it. I've already been asked to make another one and so I'm going to make a tutorial!!!

I am almost finished with the lettering for the filet crochet. To be completely honest it SHOULD be done by now. It is way easier than I thought, I've just been so busy with this wedding stuff that I can hardly sit still long enough to get much done.

Tabicat, theonlynikki and I had a "craft" night at Panera this week. It was nice to just sit with other glas and talk about anything and everything and get work done on my crochet with no interruptions.

Hopefully I will find a border soon for this project and can finish it up before the wedding!!

Peregrine Falcon Watch!

So my friend Nikki has me kinda hooked on the webcams in Peregrine Falcon nests in Indiana and Columbus.

I don't know much about them, but I find myself fascinated with watching them.

Ohio mama is still sitting on her eggs, while Indy babies are all adorably fluffy and white.

I couldn't help but screenshot this quick moment of the Indy babies.

No Shampoo and Conditioner? Forever?!?

So I have been perusing StumbleUpon and found a blog that talks about going shampoo and conditioner free.

It seems that there are people who substitute the following instead of shampoo and conditioner.

Shampoo - 1/8th Baking Soda + 7/8ths tap water
Conditioner - 1/2 Apple Cider Vinegar + 1/2 Tap water.

I'm curious about trying this out, but wondered if anyone else has tried this?

Filet Crochet Progress

So I have had a LOT going on lately and not a lot of time to work on this, but here is what I have thus far.

I am pretty stoked that there are actual letters forming!!!







I really am excited at how quickly this moves when I *am* able to get some work done on it. And I really can't believe how easy it really is. I never thought I'd be able to do something like this!
